What this shows
The drawing uses the default symbols nec convention: receptacle arcs, S-family switch marks, and familiar residential luminaire symbols. The hallway light is operated from both ends by two switch-3way fixtures; each controls statement draws a dashed control curve to the same recessed luminaire.
Code-aware placement
The kitchen worktop locations and bathroom include gfci-outlet fixtures because NEC 210.8 requires GFCI protection in those locations. The two smoke detectors, mixed ceiling/recessed/wall lighting, and the utility-room panel make this a coordination drawing rather than a symbol sampler. controls records which switch operates each luminaire; it does not describe conductor routing or a home run to panel P1.
