Scenario

How to read
Only horizontal distance carries meaning: it is evolutionary change, measured against the scale bar. Vertical spacing just keeps tips apart. Two tips whose paths join close to the right are close relatives — E. coli and Salmonella join first. The number beside an internal branch is its bootstrap support: the share of resampled trees that recover that group, so higher means more trustworthy. The coloured bands mark the three clades.
