Horns pick-and-roll — skip to the corner
A Horns ball screen against man-to-man: the screener rolls, the other big pops, and when the corner defender tags the roller the ball-handler skips it to the open corner shooter.
For a coach teaching the tag-and-skip read
Scenario
From the Horns set — 1 at the top, 4 and 5 at the elbows, 2 and 3 in the corners — against man-to-man defense. 5 steps up and screens for 1, then rolls to the rim while 4 pops to the left slot. 1 dribbles off the screen to the right wing. When X2 leaves the corner to stop the roller, 1 throws the skip pass to 2 for an open corner three.

How to read
Follow the actions in order: the screen, the dribble, the roll and pop, then the defender's rotation, and finally the pass. In basketball diagrams a solid line is a player moving and a dashed line is the ball — the opposite of soccer diagrams — and the legend says so. The key moment is X2's move toward the lane: it leaves 2 alone in the corner, which is why the pass goes there.
